The couple just shelled out $201,840 for five houses and an additional $48,080 for an adjoining plot of land on a street in Jonesboro in Clayton County, according to WABE.

Four of the properties have three bedrooms and one bathroom and the other is a two-bedroom home with a single bathroom, WABE reported. Currently, four of the five homes have tenants.

“We are investors, so we’re buying and selling property all the time,” the seller, JMH Home Buyers President Jeff Dimock, told the news station. “It was interesting that it was a celebrity couple, I assumed it was somebody looking for a good cash-flow investment. During the pre-sale conversations, we were not aware of the buyers’ identities.”

According to WABE, Offset, born Kiari Kendrell Cephus, is listed as the main buyer and Cardi B, born Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar, is listed as the secondary buyer.

“I can’t speculate on their long-term plans for the properties,” Dimock said, “but in the near term they seem like excellent investments, so I would expect they would hold onto that income-producing value initially.”

Nike reveal new Grateful Dead-inspired trainers

The Grateful Dead

Nike have unveiled a new line of trainers inspired by The Grateful Dead.

The shoes, named ‘Nike SB Dunk Low Grateful Dead’, were inspired by the legendary band’s iconic bears, first seen on the back cover of the band’s 1973 live album ‘History of the Grateful Dead, Volume 1 (Bear’s Choice)’.

With a faux-fur and suede exterior, and an image of the bear on the tongue, the shoes come with a bear-featuring slip and a pouch on the inside of the tongue for storing weed.

Speaking of the new range, Grateful Dead archivist David Lemieux said: “As the band’s benefactor, Bear was an incredibly huge part of the Grateful Dead’s ability to become who they were.

“They were talented musicians, but they would not have had the financial freedom to forgo jobs, move to Los Angeles and practice for 14 hours a day. The band wouldn’t become what it is today without Bear’s innovations and contributions.

“The same fiercely independent spirit from [Nike VP of Special Projects Sandy] Bodecker helped create that authenticity within the skate community.”

The shoes come in three different colours and cost $110 (£87). The orange version will be available from this Saturday (July 18) via FTC Skateshop, with the green and yellow versions arriving next Friday (July 24) via Nike’s app SNKRS.

In other non-music-related Grateful Dead news, the band recently announced their own line of organic deodorant.

Each deodorant is USDA-certified organic and handmade in small batches from 100 per cent natural vegan ingredients. The five fragrances include ‘Skull and Roses’ (lavender and rose), ‘Sunshine’ (blood orange and bergamot), ‘Timber’ (Douglas fir and sage), ‘Workingman’s’ (cedarwood and juniper) and unscented.

Hurts share new track ‘Redemption’ and its brooding video

Hurts have shared another new track from their forthcoming album – listen to ‘Redemption’ below.

The track is the third preview of the pop duo’s new album, ‘Faith’, which lands on September 4.

“REDEMPTION is another harbinger of what’s to come on the new album FAITH,” frontman Hutchcraft says of the new song.

“It’s a song about fear and doubt. It emerged as a beautiful moment of clarity during one of the most troubled periods of making the album.”

Multi-instrumentalist Adam Anderson goes on to call the track “a perfect storm of everything we do well individually, coming together in one moment”.

Back in May, Hutchcraft and Anderson returned with new single ‘Voices’, their first music since 2017, and recently followed it up with second single ‘Suffer’.

Hutchcraft recently spoke to NME about the band’s time away and the exhaustion that he experienced after the end of the band’s last tour. “I was physically and mentally absolutely exhausted. To the point where I was at breaking point.

“I had to stop and not do anything for a while because I couldn’t think, I couldn’t focus, or anything. And I didn’t know what the future held really. I didn’t know if we’d make another album again.”

Anderson added: “If you’d have told me when we started it, how coherent, powerful, and authentic it is, many months later, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. At one stage, I thought we had no chance.”

‘Entourage’ star Kevin Connolly accused of sexual assault by costume designer

Kevin Connolly has been accused of sexually assaulting a costume designer during a December 2005 wrap party in New York City.

Gracie Cox, a former assistant costume designer, alleges that the Entourage star sexually assaulted her during a wrap party for his directorial debut with The Gardener of Eden, reports the Daily Beast.

Cox said that before the incident, Connolly regularly flirted with her and singled her out several times on set while the movie was made.

The publication also reports that Connolly has denied the allegations and disputed her account in saying they had a mutual flirtation that culminated in a consensual sexual act.

Cox said: “We were at the party and I don’t think I’d been there for more than an hour or so when Kevin [Connolly] approached me and asked if I’d go with him for a smoke.

She said she was slightly intoxicated at that point and claimed that Connolly “led me down a hall to what I guess was the VIP lounge area.”

“As soon as we were alone in that area, he started to kiss me,” she claimed. “I didn’t know how to respond—but before I could even think about what to do about it, he pulled me into one of these little side [booths], and pulled down my pants, and turned me around, and within no time was inside of me. I was just in shock.”

She added that there was “not really a chance in my mind to object or resist.”

“It just happened really fast,” she continued “I froze and was in shock. Nothing like that had ever happened to me before in any way, shape or form. I was completely caught off-guard.”

Connolly has denied Cox’s allegations claiming that the sexual encounter was “consensual.” He made this statement to the Daily Beast via his lawyer.

The statement reads: “Kevin strongly supports victims of sexual assault and believes their claims should always be heard. As someone who has worked in this industry for four decades, he has treated people with nothing but respect and has maintained a stellar reputation. Therefore, he was completely shocked to learn of the allegations made by Gracie Cox from a wrap party in 2005.

“The incident with Ms. Cox was consensual, and he categorically denies any claim that it was assault. When they returned to the wrap party, Gracie’s boss, Amy Westcott, learned of what occurred and expressed her disappointment to both. Gracie shared with Kevin that she was embarrassed after getting in trouble with Amy, the head of the costume department. According to IMDB, it doesn’t appear that Gracie and Amy worked together on a project since then.”

“Amy and Kevin continued to work together for two more years on Entourage, and a few years later Amy recommended her assistant to work with Kevin on another job. Kevin completely understands Amy’s displeasure with the consensual act that transpired between Kevin and Gracie 15 years ago, after production had wrapped and they were no longer working together on the movie.

“Kevin acknowledges the lack of professionalism on his part, but he adamantly denies that it was anything other than a mutual consensual encounter.”

NME has reached out to representatives for Connolly for further comment.
