Cardi B’s Husband Offset Charged with Felony Possession of a Firearm Stemming from His 2018 Arrest: Offset is reportedly facing a felony charge for firearms possession by a convicted felon, along with two misdemeanor charges.
Cardi B’s husband Offset has reportedly been charged following his July 2018 arrest for gun and drug possession.
Prosecutors in Georgia’s Clayton County filed three charges against the 27-year-old Migos rapper in February, according to TMZ. The outlet reports that he is facing a felony charge of firearms possession by a convicted felon, along with two misdemeanor charges of marijuana possession and an improper lane change.
The Clayton Country District Attorney’s Office could not be immediately reached by PEOPLE for comment.
In July, Offset (né Kiari Kendrell Cephus) — who has a prior felony conviction — had been pulled over for his tinted windows when Georgia police officers allegedly discovered a gun inside of his vehicle, according to TMZ.
The arrest came just 10 days after Offset and Cardi welcomed their first child together, daughter Kulture Kiari. Offset also has three children from previous relationships: sons Jordan and Kody and daughter Kalea Marie.
This is not Offset’s first run-in with the law. He was arrested in 2016 on a driving with a suspended license charge, and in 2015 on drug and gun charges during a concert at Georgia Southern University, Billboard reported. Prosecutors dropped the drug and gun charges as part of a plea deal, according to WSB-TV.
Most recently, Offset was seen celebrating Easter on Sunday with Cardi, 26, and their 9-month-old daughter.
Alongside a sweet Instagram of the family celebrating in their Easter best, Cardi wrote, “Happy Easter from mines to yours ❤️.”
Days after collaborating with Cardi during his set at Coachella’s #REVOLVEFestival on April 14, Offset dropped a new music video featuring his superstar wife last week — and the results are pretty steamy.
The NSFW visuals for “Clout” feature the on-off pair acting very much back on following their brief split late last year. Cardi and Offset get grabby amid a striking yellow background, with the “I Like It” rapper straddling the father of her daughter while donning leather gear decked out in chains.
Cardi shared the video with an enthusiastic all-caps Instagram post Wednesday morning, writing, “CLOUT MUSIC VIDEO OUT NOW! TELL ME WHAT YA THINK!”
The song is the first single off of Offset’s solo album, Father of 4.
