Just like every other sector, the entertainment business in India too has seen a downfall because of the ongoing lockdown. Its been more than two months since shooting of films, serials, and web series have been put on halt. Following which, it won’t be very easy for the film industry to immediately bounce back after the lockdown. Now, ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam at SICCI webinar series expressed his views that will be beneficial for the entertainment sector once the shooting starts.

As per a report from indiatoday.in, Mani Ratnam at the webinar series said, “The fact that the immediate theatre release is going to get difficult, the market is going to get eroded, means that I have to make sure the cost of my film is brought down. That it is manageable to make the filmmaking viable. Which means, people involved in it, especially big stars and technicians will have to understand and help in reducing the price, reducing the cost and work towards making sure the film industry remains afloat.”

He further added, “It’s an industry which isn’t just simple entertainment, we do so much more. We give dreams to people, make them smile, it takes a lot of time of people who invest in this… Film industry also requires the support from the government. Hoping we will be back on our feet soon.”

Mani Ratnam was also recently in news for his ambitious project Ponniyin Selvan. He has plans to finish the project in one single schedule post the lockdown, for which the filmmaker will be talking to his actors to accommodate their dates.

Ponniyin Selvan completed two schedules of the film. The third schedule was about to begin in Puducherry. But the outbreak of Novel Coronavirus brought things to a stand still.

Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is based on a period drama novel by Kalki Krishnamurthy. The film that stars Aishwarya in lead along with south stars Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi Jayaram, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Aishwarya Lekshmi and others.

When Anil Kapoor Called Shilpa Shetty The 'Worst Botox Case In The Industry'
When Anil Kapoor Called Shilpa Shetty The ‘Worst Botox Case In The Industry’

The fact that several actors in Bollywood have gone under the knife is no news. But the fact that Dhadkan actress Shilpa Shetty is one of them may not be known to many. While she has always been very vocal about her nose job, not many people from outside the industry would know about it.

As a result, when Anil Kapoor called Shilpa Shetty the worst case of botox in the industry, it came as a rude shock to all! It all happened when Anil along with his co-stars of No Problem graced the couch of Koffee With Karan.

Karan Johar, who is known for his fineness of getting things out of actors asked Anil Kapoor during a rapid-fire round, “The last face you saw that had a bad botox job?” Pat came the reply from Anil Kapoor, “Shilpa Shetty.”

However, Anil Kapoor was quick to add that Shilpa Shetty had got done something to her nose and lips during the shoot of Badhaai Ho Badhaai and that has caused them immense trouble during the shoot in terms of continuity.

While Shilpa Shetty maintained a dignified silence during the entire row, she has never denied her nose job. However, a certain friend close to Shilpa was quoted by Mid-Day saying, “It was downright rude, especially coming from an actor who himself had fillers put in his cheeks. And used padding on his arms and chest to look beefed up during the shoot of Rishtey! Why doesn’t he talk about that? Shilpa has been honest and admitted to her nose job. As for collagen implants on the lips, every actress including Katrina and Priyanka and his own No Problem actress Kangna has done it. Why didn’t he name them? Any answers, Anil?”

Cut to present, Shilpa Shetty and Anil Kapoor are very close friends and have often been seen sharing great camaraderie during several B’town occasions. In fact, the duo’s crazy dance moves from Sonam Kapoor’s wedding had gone largely viral.

Madhuri Dixit BREAKS Silence On Long-Time Rumoured Rivalry With Sridevi: “We’re Not Racehorses…”

Amid the ongoing lockdown, everyone’s trying to improve their skills and Bollywood actors are no different. One such actor is Madhuri Dixit, who is working on her cooking skills, is indulging in more kathak sessions and now has even turned into a singer with her song Candle.

While promoting her first single Candle, Madhuri opened up about her achievements in Bollywood, her favourite actress from the current lot and about her equation with the late actress Sridevi. Madhuri Dixit revealed that Sridevi and her were never rivals.

In a conversation with India today, Madhuri said, “Sridevi was a thorough professional. She gave her whole life to her work. I have not done even a fifth of the films she has done. But there was no rivalry, we’re not racehorses, so we don’t think about who is going to come first”.

Speaking about her current favourite actress, Madhuri Dixit said – “When I watch other people on screen, I see what they bring to the screen. Alia Bhatt can transform herself beautifully, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra have a great screen presence. Sonakshi Sinha is a brilliant dancer, you can see that she’s dancing from the heart. Everyone has something special about them”.

On the work front, Madhuri Dixit will be back as a judge on reality TV, when she returns on the new season of “Dance Deewane”. The actress recently kickstarted the audition phase by shooting the season’s first promo from home.
