KSI wants to fight Jake Paul next year: “It’s going to happen”

Rapper and YouTube star KSI has said he wants to fight Jake Paul in 2021.

The London Vlogger defeated Jake’s brother Logan in Los Angeles last November, having previously gone toe-to-toe with him in Manchester in 2018.

KSI now says that a fight with Jake, the younger of the two siblings, would help settle the grudge between them.

“I’m aiming for Jake. I feel like I need to finish this whole YouTube boxing thing off and he’s the guy that I need to beat,” he told Hearn and Tony Bellew on the Talk The Talk vodcast.

“It’s going to happen. I don’t know when, but it has to happen. That’s the ultimate. Everyone’s saying that I don’t need to but life’s about taking risk. I was taking a risk fighting Logan the first time and the second time.”

Paul has been taunting his potential opponent on Instagram having posted about an apparent fight between the two, which was dismissed as fake by Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn.

Earlier this year, KSI was a guest at the NME Awards 2020 where he professed his love for Yungblud.

“I didn’t know who [Yungblud] was. [Then] I came here and was like, ‘Shit, this guy is sick.’”

Asked what he liked about the pop maverick, KSI replied: “I like his vibe. Both songs [he performed] were dope.”

It’s official: Kanye West says he’s running for President in 2020

Kanye West

Kanye West has long teased the possibility of running for US President, but in a new tweet, the rapper finally made the announcement: he’s running in the 2020 election.

Posted on Independence Day in the US (July 4), West said, “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States!” along with the hashtag #2020VISION.

Though the filing deadline for presidential candidates has passed in several states, West has the public backing of at least one prominent figure: Elon Musk.

“You have my full support,” Musk tweeted.

On July 2, West shared a photo of the two men side by side with a caption “When you go to your boys house and you’re both wearing orange”.

The response to the presidential campaign tweet has been swift, though many of West’s followers are divided by the announcement.

In 2019, West confirmed his intent to run for the presidency in 2024 at a surprise appearance at the annual Fast Company Innovation Festival in New York.

“When I run for President in 2024,” West began telling told Yeezy footwear designer Steven Smith before the audience began laughing.

“What y’all laughing at?” West said. “We would create so many jobs! I’m not going to run, I’m going to walk.

“When you see headlines saying Kanye’s crazy – one in three African Americans are in jail and all the celebrities are in jail also because they can’t say nothing, they got no opinion, they’re so scared!”

In 2015, when West first announced his interest in running this year, Taylor Swift and rapper Ice Cube publicly backed West’s ambitions for the presidency.

While Swift offered to be West’s running mate, after hinting at a political team-up between the pair, Cube didn’t have the same interest. “I’m voting for Kanye, who is better than Kanye that would run?” he said.

Wu-Tang Clan and Mobb Deep

Method Man has announced that he is teaming up with Mobb Deep‘s Havoc for a joint album.

Speaking in a new interview, the Wu-Tang Clan rapper talked about his career, his discography, the lack of black history in school books, and Dave East portraying him in the TV series Wu-Tang: An American Saga.

Towards the end of the interview, Meth revealed that he and the Mobb Deep producer/rapper have recorded an album together called ‘Dirty P’, which pays homage to late Wu-Tang rapper Ol’ Dirty Bastard and late Mobb Deep MC Prodigy.

“Take on Dirty’s name and Prodigy’s name and we going to call it ‘Dirty P’, Method Man told Talib Kweli on his The People’s Party podcast. “That’s pretty much done, we’re trying to think of a single to put out first. Don’t know about that yet.”

Watch the full interview below:

Method Man’s his last album was 2018’s Meth Lab Season 2: The Lithium, which featured appearances from Wu-Tang Clan, Snoop Dogg, N.O.R.E., and more.

Last month, Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA paid tribute to Bruce Lee in a new song ‘Be Like Water’.

The rapper has often cited Lee as an inspiration, with Wu-Tang Clan‘s debut album ‘Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)’ famously referencing 1973’s Enter the Dragon, the legendary martial arts star’s final film before his death, as well as the Shaw Brothers’ The 36th Chamber of Shaolin.

“Bruce Lee’s teachings extended beyond physical martial arts. He was full of philosophy and mindfulness,” RZA said in a statement.

Thurston Moore has shared a new song called ‘Canteloupe’ – listen to it below.

The former-Sonic Youth impresario’s latest single comes ahead of the release of his new album ‘By The Fire’, which is due out September 25 via his own Daydream Library Series label.

The album is set to feature contributions from many of Moore’s frequent collaborators, including My Bloody Valentine‘s Deb Googe on bass and backing vocals, along with James Sedwards on guitar. Other contributors include Negativland’s Jon Leidecker, Jem Doulton and Moore’s former Sonic Youth bandmate Steve Shelley.

After last month sharing ‘HASHISH’ – the album’s first single – Moore has now released ‘Canteloupe’, a slice of rip-roaring poetry that hears him sing: “We’re pulsing blue blue to orange/ Dripping fire music down your back.

Listen to the new song below:

In May, Moore shared a new song titled ‘May Daze’, which also featured Shelley, Googe and Sedwards. It was recorded at The Church in London with Paul Epworth, who produced Moore’s 2017 album ‘Rock n Roll Consciousness’.

Moore’s last album under his own name was 2019’s ‘Spirit Counsel’.

Meanwhile, Sonic Youth have unearthed a rare live tape from their archives, uploading it to Bandcamp. The album, entitled ‘Blastic Scene’, was recorded at a live show in Lisbon in 1993.

Sonic Youth released ‘Blastic Scene’ as an authorised bootleg in 1995. However, just 1,300 copies were pressed, and the album was only ever available in Portugal. Fans can now purchase the record digitally for $8.00 on the group’s Bandcamp site.
