With the recent release of the TurboGrafx-16 Mini–as well as the PC Engine Mini and CoreGrafx Mini–controller maker 8BitDo has revealed three new pads that work with the mini console and Nintendo Switch. The 8BitDo controllers are wireless and take after the classic controller designs of the TurboGrafx-16, PC Engine, and CoreGrafx. You can pick each controller up on Amazon for $25.
The original consoles’ controllers feature a switch that let you turn on turbo for its two buttons. The 8Bitdo controllers, on the other hand, feature two separate buttons for the turbo function. Each pad comes with a 2.4GHz USB receiver that you plug into the mini consoles or the Nintendo Switch’s dock. Because of this, the controller is only usable in docked mode on the Switch. The controllers also feature a 180mAh Li-on battery that 8BitDo says gives you 18 hours of play time after a one-to-two hour charging period.
