India vs Pakistan ICC World Cup 2019 Match Summary and Highlights

June 17, 2019 by Deepak Jangra Leave a Comment

And it’s all over! Huge win for India, and massively disappointing result for Pakistan.

India played to a seriously high standard today.

Their batsmen were marvellous, Rohit’s 140 complemented by Kohl’s 77 and Rahul’s 57, while the bowling performance was extremely promising. Kuldeep dismissed Fakhar (62) and Babar (48) when they were both set, before Hardik struck twice in as many balls to all-but secure victory for his side.

For Pakistan, winning the remainder of their matches is imperative now, whereas India are sitting pretty after an unbeaten start to the tournament.

ICC World Cup 2019 India vs New Zealand Live Score and Blog

June 13, 2019 by Deepak Jangra Leave a Comment

Match: Match 18
Event: ICC Cricket World Cup 2019
Date: Thursday 13 June 2019
Venue: Trent Bridge, Nottingham

Both India and New Zealand, who have won all of their games at the ICC Men’s World Cup 2019 so far, will look to maintain ascendancy as they take on each other at Trent Bridge.

Squads

India: Virat Kohli (c), Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal, MS Dhoni (wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Kedar Jadhav, Dinesh Karthik, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami, Vijay Shankar, Rohit Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav

New Zealand: Kane Williamson (c), Ross Taylor, Tom Latham (wk), Tom Blundell (wk), Mitchell Santner, Colin de Grandhomme, Lockie Ferguson, Tim Southee, Trent Boult, Colin Munro, Ish Sodhi, Henry Nicholls, Martin Guptill, Matt Henry, Jimmy Neesham

Conditions

Chances to get a full 100-over game seem bleak as there might be heavy and thundery showers later in the day. With bowlers from either team capable of exploiting overcast conditions, much like West Indies did against Pakistan here, both captains will look to field first.

Meanwhile, India opener Shikhar Dhawan has been sidelined with a hairline fracture to his thumb, meaning Rishabh Pant has been drafted in as potential cover.

India will likely choose between Dinesh Karthik and Vijay Shankar to replace Dhawan in the XI, and it would make sense for KL Rahul to open the batting. That is purely speculation though. Whatever happens, Rohit Sharma will have a new opening partner today.

India vs Australia ICC World Cup 2019 Match Summary and Recap

June 9, 2019 by Deepak Jangra Leave a Comment

India win by 36 runs

  • India win the toss and bat first, finish on 352/5
  • Dhawan 117, Kohli 82, Sharma 57, Pandya 48
  • Finch run out for 36, Warner makes steady 56
  • Smith, Carey hit fifties but Australia lose by 36 runs
  • Bumrah, Kumar take three wickets apiece

India deserved to win that one in the end, for their dynamic performances in both the batting and bowling departments.

Dhawan kicked off proceedings with a masterful 117, while Rohit (57), Kohli (82) and big-hitting efforts from Dhoni (27) and Pandya (48) secured a brilliant 352/5 for India.

Where the Aussie bowlers could not penetrate, the Indian bowlers did however, with Bumrah, Kumar and Chahal all excellent in their endeavours.

Australia will not be too down-heartened, considering their chase came reasonably close, and they still have two wins under their belt, but India have turned over one of the tournament’s strongest sides here, and they did so in style.
