The Major MCU Villains Set to Become Heroes in Phase 4 and Beyond

Published

on

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has seen its fair share of villains. Some come to threaten a singular Avenger, while others come to threaten the world, wiping out 50% of the population across planets from galaxies far and wide. Yet, some possess a conflicted mindset — a heart capable of rediscovering the good inside. Others know when to put differences aside — and fight alongside a hero for self-preservation purposes. And, those villains may come into the spotlight once more in Phase 4 (and beyond).

Based on available information and leaked news surrounding Phase 4 and beyond, certain major villains seem destined to turn over a new leaf following the Infinity Saga’s Avengers: Endgame.

1. Hela may fight alongside Thor in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’

Insider reports suggest that Cate Blanchett’s Hela could return to Thor: Love and Thunder since her dead body was never actually shown on-screen. Despite the character’s glorious sinister ways and lack of concern for life, she will reportedly team up with Thor to protect New Asgard from a new threat. The upcoming threat will be capable of wiping out the land and the people who inhabit it, including Hela.

We Got This Covered notes that Hela will not be buddy-buddy with Thor, but she will rather come to understand that, together, she has a chance at survival. In other words, her reason for becoming a “hero” will not be about internal growth or forgiveness, but self-preservation…at least at the start.

2. Young Loki may come to fight alongside the New Avengers

How will Young Loki become a dominant figure in the Marvel Landscape? And, why would he feel compelled to team up with the new set of heroes who come to protect the earth and surrounding galaxies? First off, by the end of Loki’s arc, he comes to see Thor in a more accurate light — a perspective not clouded by his years of self-doubt and sub-par childhood treatment. He also tries to coyly destroy Thanos, putting his own life on the line for the right cause in Infinity War. Loki grows throughout the saga.

Rumor has it that Loki will get trapped in his childhood form at some point during Thor: Love and Thunder, yet the childhood disguise does not erase his memories, his experiences, and his beliefs. Thus, he could come to rewrite his history. Having learned that he’s been fighting on the wrong side for years, a Young Loki seems destined to seize his shot at redemption — to become the hero he sometimes permitted to emerge…only in the most dire and significant of circumstances.

3. Will Kilmonger appear as a guide to T’Challa in the ancestral plane in ‘Black Panther 2?’

Killmonger was one of the MCU’s most complex villains, whose reasons for villainy were substantial and grounded, emotionally-fueled and revenge-based. Yet, he will reportedly feature in Black Panther 2 in the ancestral plane.

T’Challa will reportedly come to chat with Killmonger, who may be present as a guide — a guide who has learned from his own missteps and may be able to provide guidance to a man struggling to determine the proper future. Who better to turn to than a man who has battled his own internal demons? Which, considering T’Challa may be tasked with passing down the mantle to Shuri, makes a bit of sense. Killmonger may not serve as an action hero, but he could serve as a spiritual one.

There’s a Secret Sex Scene in ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’

Published

By

It’s been over 20 years since J.K. Rowling first introduced us to her magical Wizarding World with Harry Potter. Though the books came first, fans of the series are just as enamored with the film franchise.

In 2001, Home Alone director, Chris Columbus brought Rowling’s world to the big screen with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. The film also introduced Potterheads to Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, who played Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley respectively.

As the actors, characters, and storylines developed, so did the films. By the time, Oscar-winning director Alfonso Cuarón came on board to direct Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in 2004, the series had taken a much darker and mature turn. In fact, one Potter fan just uncovered something absolutely shocking in Azkaban.

Alfonso Cuarón changed YA movies with ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’

Any fan of Harry Potter knows there was a massive shift in the franchise when Cuarón came on board to direct Prisoner of Azkaban. Prior to his arrival, the first two movies were fairly rigid when it came to sticking to the source material.

Cuarón wasn’t afraid to step outside of the box, setting a much darker and more ominous tone for the five films that would follow. However, he also added his own quirks and details that really brought forth the texture of what it meant to be a teenager in this magical world.

“I had to be very respectful to the source material, but also to the two previous films,” he told IGN. “But, at the same time, I was trying to make something that I could feel my own.”

Inside the Marauder’s Map

One of the most pivotal plot points in Prisoner of Azkaban is the Marauder’s Map. Ron’s older brothers, Fred and George steal the map from Filtch in their first year at Hogwarts and gift it to Harry so that he can travel to Hogsmeade Village undetected.

We later find out that the map was created by Remus Lupin (Moony), Peter Pettigrew (Wormtail), Sirius Black (Padfoot), and James Potter (Prongs) while they were attending Hogwarts. According to Wizarding World, “The magic used in the map’s creation is advanced and impressive; it includes the Homonculous Charm, enabling the possessor of the map to track the movements of every person in the castle, and it was also enchanted to forever repel (as insultingly as possible) the curiosity of their nemesis, Severus Snape.”

The map enables Harry to identify Peter Pettigrew and find out the truth about his godfather, Sirius Black.

There’s a hidden sex scene on the Marauder’s Map in ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’

Now that most people have been in quarantine and HBO Max has all eight Harry Potter films streaming, fans are discovering new details about the movies that they previously missed.

On Twitter user discovered a detail in Prisoner of Azkaban that showcases the Marauder’s Map that shows two pairs of feet in the bottom left-hand corner very intricately placed together.

“Day ??? of the lockdown,” one fan wrote on Twitter. “I found the secret sex scene in Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban.” Another added, “Thanks, that’s my childhood ruined. I was 35 at the time but that’s beside the point.”

Honestly, we’re sure there are so many hidden gems we still haven’t discovered.

Scott Adkins Wishes ‘Debt Collectors’ Was Just Called ‘The Debt Collector 2’

Published

on

By

Scott Adkins and Louis Mandylor are back in Debt Collectors, reprising their role in The Debt Collector. Sue (Mandylor) has three new vigs he asks French (Adkins) to help him collect. So they go to Las Vegas for their newest adventure.

Scott Adkins | Samuel Goldwyn Films

RELATED: ‘Debt Collectors’ Movie Review: 2 Debt 2 Collect

Adkins spoke with Showbiz Cheat Sheet by Zoom on May 21 to discuss Debt Collectors. We’ll have more with Adkins over the weekend. The sequel is now available in theaters and on VOD platforms.

‘Debt Collectors’ is the ‘Aliens’ of the ‘Debt Collector’ franchise, but there’s only one Scott Adkins

The Alien franchise had a fun way of naming its sequels. After Alien, the sequel was Aliens and it had far more aliens in it. There are still only two Debt Collectors but that shows the sequel is the next level beyond the first.

“I suppose so because in the first one I guess Sue was the debt collector and I was the newbie,” Adkins said. “Now we’re the debt collectors together.”

Scott Adkins would rather call it ‘The Debt Collector 2’

Adkins revealed he prefers a straight numerical sequel. Getting clever only muddles the film.

Scott Adkins | Samuel Goldwyn Films

“Honestly, I would have preferred The Debt Collector 2,” Adkins said. “Just say what it is. I like it to say what it is. It’s The Debt Collector number two. I’m a simple guy. I like to keep things simple.”

‘Debt Collectors’ may be confusing the fans

Adkins has a genuine concern about the title. Debt Collectors isn’t distinct enough from the original title, and when people are scrolling through titles on a VOD service, they might not know it’s a new entry.

“The problem is there’s people that think this is the original film,” Adkins said. “They can’t separate the two. They just see Debt Collectors and think, ‘Oh, I’ve seen that.’ So I worry that people won’t watch it.”

Yes, folks. Adkins made a new movie so you should all watch it.

“We’ve put the poster up and stuff and so many comments on Facebook are just, ‘Yeah, seen it, loved it,’” Adkins said. “It’s like no, you have to see it again.”

Maybe the third film can be called The Debt Collector 3.

“We’ll do it with a cubed 3 like Alien,” Adkins joked.

It was not easy for Scott Adkins to become the debt collector again

Adkins has several franchises where he reprises a role in sequels. He said it’s always hard to find the character again.

You’d think it would be [easier] and it is in a sense because you don’t have to build the character from the ground up. You’ve already played him so you can remember what you did. But I remember doing Boyka IV, Undisputed IV and because we did a few scenes to begin with which weren’t Boyka being his normal self. He was in the church and he was talking to the woman. It was Boyka in a new scenario and I was actually questioning, am I playing Boyka right? It doesn’t feel right. He was always in jail so it didn’t feel right. There was a softer side to him.

Scott Adkins, interview with Showbiz Cheat Sheet, 5/21/2020

With Debt Collectors, Adkins was nervous about recreating his chemistry with Mandylor.

“Me and Louis had such an effortless chemistry together in that film,” Adkins said. “We wanted to bring that back but we would question whether we were doing it because it was just organic the first time and it worked effortlessly. Of course, we wanted to make sure that we were doing the same thing. It was strange sometimes. We felt like we were reaching for it too much but these are the things that will go through your head.”

‘Accident Man 2’ will not be called ‘Accident Men’

Adkins is also developing a sequel to Accident Man, based on a comic book he loved as a kid. The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic delayed production, but one thing is sure. He will call it Accident Man 2.

“We were supposed to be doing it this month,” Adkins said. “We’ll see, hopefully. It’s dear to my heart of course. I think the new script is really good. I’m really happy with it. Stu [Smalls] did a great job.”
