Directors always talk about how many actors wanted to do a certain iconic role. There also stories when some famous actors have turned down to do a particular character and the directors had to go with the 2nd, 3rd or last option. But now if we think, the later options seem to be more suited for the roles.
1. John McClane (Die Hard)
Arnold Schwarzenegger was the first choice for the role of policeman McClane. But he turned the offer down due to ethical reasons. The other choices were Sylvester Stallone, Harrison Ford, and Don Johnson. Instead, Bruce Willis got the part.
2. Tony Stark (Iron Man)
We cannot imagine anyone else other than Robert Downey Jr. playing Tony Stark. But Nicolas Cage and Tom Cruise were also interested in the role. They lost interest as the plot was changed and revised several times.
3. Neo (The Matrix)
Will Smith was the first choice for this iconic role but due to his tight schedule, he rejected it. Ewan McGregor, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Tom Cruise were also taken into consideration after him.
4. Jack Dawson (Titanic)
Matthew Mcconaughey was the first choice of director, James Cameron. The actor was not interested. We are so glad that Leonardo DiCaprio has played the role of Jack.
5. Batman (Batman, 1989)
Although Michael Keaton played the iconic role of Batman, it was meant for Mel Gibson. Mel thought the movie would not too much on the box office so he had turned down the offer.
6. Django (Django, Unchained)
Will Smith was surely on demand. He was the first choice to play Django. The reason he was removed was that he asked for some changes in the plot and his character which the writers did not agree with. So ultimately it went to Jamie Foxx.
7. Edward Lewis (Pretty Woman)
No one could have played Edward better than Richard Gere. Al Pacino what is considered appropriate for the role before Richard. He had even rehearsed some lines with Julia Roberts but later he realised he was not interested in the script.
8. Jack Sparrow (Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl)
Hugh Jackman was in mind when the character was written. But the filmmakers realized he was not famous enough outside Australia at that time. Then they offered the role to Jim Carrey and Matthew McConaughey.
Iron Man gets sentimental on his birthday “When the time is right, I’ll pay proper homage to the fallen..”
Robert Downey Jr. turned 55 on Saturday, April 4 but his birthday was not a very joyous occasion as the star shared a pretty emotional message about the people lost to corona virus.
Downey shared a picture of himself wearing a protective mask and gloves with the caption, “First off, thanx for all the b-day wishes, much appreciated..Like so many, our family has lost friends and relatives over the last several weeks. The (well advised) inability to congregate , grieve , mourn, celebrate in a natural way has been less than ideal..When the time is right, I’ll pay proper homage to the fallen..Meanwhile, I feel driven to think of some new ways of communicating with y’all—Maybe give voice to YOUR struggles and insights during this unprecedented time? Maya Angelou would have turned 92 today, and I couldn’t agree more with her wisdom on the matter. ‘There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.’ I’ll check back soon Until then, stay Safe, Optimistic, Vigilant, And maybe most importantly-Connected, RDJ.”
Social media was full of fans as well as celebrities wishing the star a very happy birthday.
Chris Evans, who plays Captain America, shared a lovely picture of the two posing in front of the Avengers sign. “Happy birthday to one of my absolute favorites! Love you 3000,@RobertDowneyJr,” he wrote.
He was also wished by Mark Ruffalo, who plays the Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He shared a cute black-and-white photo of him giving Downey a tight hug. “Sending you all the virtual hugs for your birthday, @RobertDowneyJr I love you to life, 3000. It’s an honor knowing such a generous and complex man,” he wrote.
Jeremy Renner, who plays Hawkeye, shared a video of confetti flying across a room and wrote, “Happy birthday @robertdowneyjr big squeeze brother ! Love you.”
Downey also shared a picture of one of author Maya Angelou’s book on Instagram, with whom he shares his birthday. “If u don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude…” #mayaangelou #happybirthday #Poet #Activist 1928-2014 It’s an honor to share a birthday with this great #woman, and a necessity to express my #gratitude to the following— #Healthcare workers, Personal care and home health aides, First responders, Anyone in an active service job, As well as law enforcement, the National Guard, all Armed Services, etc… Anyone braving exposure in the #service of others— Proudly, RDJ,” he wrote.

Priyanka Chopra says, “loves to do more action movies”
WHEN IT COMES TO TAKING UP NEW CHALLENGES NOTHING IS HOLDING PIGGY CHOPS BACK!
OUR DESI GIRL IS AN INSPIRATION FOR MANY YOUNGSTERS AS SHE IS FIERCE AND BELIEVES IN “MAKING WINE OUT OF LEMONS!” ( TURNING DIFFICULT SITUATIONS IN YOUR FAVOUR)
RECENTLY IN AN INTERVIEW P.C GAVE US ANOTHER REASON FOR BEING HAILED AS A “BOSS LADY”
SHE DOES HER OWN STUNTS AND HER FANS HAVE SEEN HER FLAWLESS ACTION IN QUANTICO (SEASON 1 & 2) AND DON FRANCHISE!
CHOPRA ARTICULATED HER VIEWS ABOUT HOW FASCINATING SHE FINDS THE ACTION GENRE, AS SHE WENT ON TO SAY: “I have always done my own stunts. I trust my body immensely. I am as athletic as a person. I just really enjoy action movies. I have done them in ”Don” and ”Quantico”. I hope to do more of them,”
NOT JUST THIS BUT FORMER MISS WORLD GAVE AN IMPRESSIVE REALITY CHECK IN CONJUNCTION WITH HER STIRRING GENDER NEUTRAL VIEWS:
The genre is generally seen as a hero”s domain.
“I am someone who believes in a gender-neutral world. I hope in my lifetime we reach a place where we say movies instead of female-centric movies, we say directors instead of female directors, we say athletes instead of female athletes,” said the former Miss World.
“I hope my children don’t have to worry about the fact that ”this is an Indian female cricket team or Indian female movie”. We don’t say ”it is a male-centric movie, so let”s go and watch it”. So why do we have to say that it”s a female (centric movie)? I hope that happens and I am seeing it more and more as the conversation… where girls are coming out of their shells, and parents are supporting in finding their own feet. My parents supported me in all my dreams and ambitions,” said Priyanka.
She has many projects in her kitty, including a superhero movie titled “We Can Be Heroes”. Will the audience get to see her as a superhero?
“I can’t tell you that but it”s a kid’s superhero movie by Robert Rodriguez. Do you know ”Spy Kids”? This (”We Can Be Heroes”) is in that world a little bit, and a lot of amazing actors have come together to tell the story. It will be really fun,”
WE ARE IN AWE WITH HER EFFORTLESSLY BEAUTIFUL YET STRONG OPINIONS AND ACTIONS! SHE IS DEFINITELY ONE OF THOSE CELEBRITIES WHO HAS STURDY PRINCIPLES WHICH IS ULTIMATELY REFLECTEDDD IN THEIR WORK. WE ARE EAGERLY WAITING FOR HER UPCOMING MOVIES AND ANYTHING THAT P.C HAS TO OFFER!
Good News: The return of Robert Downey Jr. is now confirmed!
Yep, you read that right; rumors revolving around the possible cameo of Robert Downey Jr. in the upcoming Black Widow movie have got all of our hopes up.
Just remembering the scenes of Avengers: End game, that snap, that ending, and Tony’s last words still bring fresh tears to all Marvel fans’ eyes. But now it seems that our beloved might just grace us with his scene in Scarlett Johnson’s starrer Black widow.
For those wondering, if this is an indication of a kind of rebirth of Iron Man, then I am sorry to douse your hopes because it isn’t. Technically, the movie is set in times before the End game, hence before all the painful and heartbreaking deaths and drifting apart of the Avengers. Tony Stark, is thus alive, humorous and rich as ever and may just be seen on the screens again, after the final goodbyes he bade in Avengers: End game.
So sit tight (indoors!), wait (it’s not like any of us is too busy these days) and hope that we see our hero in action again.
